    A Picturesque Location

    Shadow Lake offers a truly unique & picturesque wedding venue that is unrivaled in the Quad City area. It must be seen to be appreciated. Situated on a private, secluded, dead end road property 10 minutes North of Geneseo, Shadow Lake is 144 Acres of mature trees, wildlife and a 90 Acre lake that is the perfect backdrop for the wedding ceremony arbor and reception tent. Natural backdrops are everywhere for your photographer to capture beautiful photos of your day. Shadow Lake features a handicap accessible non-smoking, 275-seat capacity high-end tent with bar service with wide open views inside of the tent looking out to the spectacular property.

    About Us

    In April of 2022, 7 couples purchased the old Shadow Lake Campground with the vision of turning it into something our community could enjoy. More than a year was spent cleaning up the property making it ready for visitors. You wouldn’t recognize the property because of all the work that has been done!

    We have sat as many as 275 guests for a wedding!  Even had one wedding where more seating was added outside!  The tent is 60 x 80.

    We can make them available upon reqeust.  Our standard restrooms are air conditioned and located in an old train car!  Most guests love our restroom set-up - it’s one of a kind.

    Yes, you may use your own caterer! We also have a list of preferred caterers we can provide to you.

    No outside beverages are permitted & are strictly prohibited.  Shadow Lake will provide all alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages that the bride and groom have requested be served at the wedding.

    Sorry, only battery operated candles are allowed to be used.

    All disposable items are to be placed in garbage cans that are provided, then emptied at the end of the night in the dumpster. All food needs to be removed and disposed of by the end of the evening on the date of your event. All decorations and personal items need to be cleared out on Sunday morning by 10:00 am.

    Geneseo has 2 hotels: Regency Inn and Best Western. There is also a Bed & Breakfast – Central Schoolhouse Inn.  The QC Airport hotels and several Iowa hotels are 15-20 minutes away.

    After taking a tour of our property, we will need a deposit of 50% down, which is non-refundable, a signed Contract and a check for the $1,000 damage deposit, that may be returned after inspection of the property following the event.
